Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage (IHM) is a light massage, carried out fully clothed. The massage is to the upper back, shoulders, neck and head. It finishes with a short facial reflexology sequence or, in the case of the heavily bearded, a short hand reflexology session!
Ginette stands for part of the treatment and sits next to you and behind your head for the remainder. No oils are used, although Ginette is happy to apply oil to your hair at the end if you would like to use the opportunity for a conditioning hair treatment by leaving the oil in at home, with your head wrapped in a warm towel – it does feel good!
Please wear a t-shirt or cotton shirt if possible. A single layer, fine-knit jumper would also be fine.
It is a lovely treatment that has a number of benefits, not least of which is stimulating blood flow to the scalp, which in turn can improve hair growth particularly in combination with the application of specialist oils at home and a vitamin regime. A general improvement to the blood and lymphatic circulation can be felt. The back, shoulders and neck can benefit from a release of tension.

Indian Head Massage (IHM) is also known as Champissage, which comes from ancient Sanskrit, and the treatment itself dates back thousands of years in India, traditionally carried out in the domestic setting.
